Neighbor to Neighbor

A Grassroots Program of the Democratic Party of Washington County

You can help grow the grassroots of the Democratic Party by becoming a Neighborhood Leader in our Neighbor to Neighbor 2010 Program. We will provide Neighborhood Leaders with a list of twenty-five or so of their neighbors who are registered Democratic voters in addition to slate cards, candidate literature, etc. We will provide you with training, lists and any other resources and on-going support you may need, all that we ask is that you return your lists to our Field Director when you’re done.

We know that direct contact from neighbors is the most effective way to turn out our progressive Democratic voters. We know that direct contact from neighbors is also the best way to communicate our values, and cut through the media echo machine. Won’t you join us and help promote our Democratic values and candidates in YOUR neighborhood?

Click on Go To Form to sign up to be the local contact for 25 Democratic voters in your neighborhood.

Every year we have a terrific booth at the County Fair, where we meet the voters – and future voters – and spread the Democratic Vision. We sell buttons & bumper stickers, pass out literature for candidates and upcoming measures important to Oregonians, and talk with folks about what’s important to them.
We even help people register to vote – as Democrats of course!
Can you volunteer to work a shift in our booth?
All shifts are well staffed except Sunday Aug 1, 6-11PM. Please volunteer!
It’s fun, easy, air-conditioned and it makes a real difference to our cause.
Use our email webform to RSVP (select Category: Vice Chair, Glen Geller)
and we’ll send you a link to the the online scheduling calendar.

The Histrionics of Minority House Leader Boehner

Monday, July 5th, 2010

The core essential achievement of the Health Insurance Reform Bill was a little discussed provision that requires the insurance companies to spend eighty-five cents of every dollar they collect in premiums on health care costs of policyholders. In committee hearings industry executives are claiming that the literature they produce should be included in the calculation of money they spend on healthcare.
