Democracy and the Internet

Contrary to what some Constitutional Originalists would have us believe, America was not perfect when it was founded. In fact, it hardly counted as a democracy since only white males were permitted to vote. We have made great progress as a country since then, granting suffrage to women and minorities. However, our political process still has flaws such as low voter turnout.

The state government of Michigan is run as a democracy with three independent and impartial branches to help run the state. These branches are namely the executive branch, the legislative branch and the judicial branch. The executive branch deals with the day to day running of the state bureaucracy and making sure that the law and order situation in the state is maintained.

When reason fails anger takes over. A healthy discussion is a thing of the past. Even the Prime Minister of the country cannot talk undisturbed! There are occasions when paper-weights and mikes are being freely used as missiles and a day might come when wearing helmet shall be made mandatory while participating in the proceedings.
