The cost of the current G 20 economic conference talks being hosted in Toronto, Ontario Canada has irritated a national sensitivity while at the same time promising economic hope for the country. The one billion dollar price tag for the event has been labelled frivolous by many politicians and has also been condemned as a very costly public relations ploy for Canada.
The current White House Administration has let the political machine ignore the severity of the Gulf Oil Spill. With multiple offers of assistance from foreign countries and companies, their refusal of help has added to the disaster in the gulf. Politics are getting in the way of helping those who live and work in the gulf states.
The group wishing to make changes to the Welsh language law include Wales’ own teachers’ union (Undeb Cenedlaethol Athrawon Cymru), language expert professor Colin Williams, the women’s voluntary group Merched y Wawr, as well as the Friends of the Earth Cymru. The open letter was addressed to the current Heritage Minister Alum Ffred Jones. In the letter, the group complained that the Welsh national language is facing threats from many directions.
